Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know until you know what you know.
This why we say if we knew then what we know now we would make different choices.
When we face the unknown it’s important to do some knowledge assessments. What do I know? What do I need to? How can I know? Who do I know that knows what I don’t know?

Knowledge is powerful but it is also puffed up so the first thing you need to learn how to handle knowledge. Know that, no matter how much you know you will never know everything. This will keep you humble and enable you to learn what you don’t know.

As we face uncertain times there are many things that we do not know about the future so we must assess what we know and what we can do with what we know. Many of us will not return to the working world but will cultivate new things out of the knowledge we now possess.

What do we need to Know? We need to know that life will never be the same and so we need to make adjustments. We need to know that evil does not triumph over good. We need to know that God does cause all things to work for our good. We need to know that if we put God first, everything will turn out just fine.

How can you know? One of the first place to seek knowledge is in prayer. If anyone lacks wisdom let him ask of God (James 1:5).

There are two kinds of knowledge ,the worlds knowledge and God’s Knowledge. To obtain the knowledge of the world you may need to go through much studying and training. For example if you want to become a doctor you may have to study and train for years. If you want to be a teacher you will need to be trained etc. You also gained knowledge by your life experiences. Sometimes life will take you places that you have no knowledge to handle but you learn as you figure out the process of what life has thrown at you. I called this knowledge the world knowledge. It’s powerful and it’s great we need this but there’s another kind of knowledge that can only be given by God and this is the knowledge to desire above all else.

The Knowledge that God gives us is sometimes called intuition. It’s something you know without reason or being taught. It’s a knowing that goes beyond your intellect. We see this demonstrated so many times in the Bible. Allow me to share a few examples with you.

When Job said, “I Know that my redeemer lives” he had not seen Jesus and there was no earthly knowledge that gave him that level of revelation. All he knew was that he was suffering in pain and agony but in the midst of that pain and agony Job knew that his redeemer is real and that he would see Him. (Job 19:25)

The Shunamite woman somehow knew to go the the prophet when her son died. She Knew her son was dead but what she also knew was there was a man who spoke this son into existence. It didn’t make sense to her that her son had died after the prophet came and spoke this son into existence, you could say she knew who to go to when she did not know what to do. (II Kings 4). She knew, “it is well!”

Peter knew that Jesus was the Christ, the son of God, the messiah, the one sent to save us from sin, although flesh and blood did not reveal it to him. (Matt 16:16-17). Jesus was not yet revealed as the Christ, so how could Peter know?

Martha knew that her brother Lazarus had died but she also knew that even though her brother is dead God would give Jesus whatever he asked for in prayer. (John 11:22). Martha know that her brother would be resurrected on the last day but she also knew who to call when when she did not know the will of God in her situation.

So you see there are two different kinds of knowledge and we need both of them because what we know will lead us to what we don’t know and what we don’t know will lead us to what we need to know.

However we need more of this God inspired knowledge because for too long we have only been led by the knowledge that the world gives. The world’s knowledge can only help us to survive in the natural world but for the times we are living in we need spiritual knowledge to help us navigate the spiritual as the Bible unfolds right before our natural eyes.

So as we go through this season of uncertainty, this uncharted territory, this unknown wilderness experience let us use what we know to help us get through what we don’t know.

What we know is that God’s plans for us are for good and not for evil. Plans to give us a hope and a future, plans to give us an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Know that although you do not know what the future holds you can be confident in knowing your redeemer like Job did and you can be confident in knowing the He will lead you into all truth.

Although you do not know what the future holds look to God and pray that He will connect you to a true man or woman of God that is not self seeking but will lead you to the one true and living God. Pray that God will reveal himself to you.

I know the plans he has for you.. I know he will not leave you… I know he will complete the good work he has started….. I know you are worth more than many sparrows…. I know God inscribed you in the palm of his hands…. I know God’s love for you is everlasting…I know this is not the end..
